1. Who We Are
This policy explains how Landon Johnson, a sole proprietor doing business as Second Point ("Second Point," "we"), collects and uses information when you use the Site or subscribe.
2. Information We Collect
(a) Information you provide — your email address and any account or billing details you submit; (b) information collected automatically — the Site runs no analytics or tracking scripts and sets no cookies of its own, but our web host and the third-party networks that serve our fonts and styling receive standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested; (c) payment information, if paid subscriptions are offered, is processed by our publishing platform (Substack) and its payment processor — we do not store full card numbers.
3. How We Use It
To deliver and administer your subscription, send the newsletter and Service communications, process payments, respond to inquiries, analyze and improve the Service, and comply with law.
4. Email and Marketing
We send the newsletter and related communications to subscribers. Every commercial email includes an unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time. Subscriptions and email delivery are handled by Substack, whose own privacy policy also applies to data you provide when subscribing.
5. Cookies and Analytics
The Site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. It does load styling and fonts from third-party content delivery networks (Google Fonts and cdn.tailwindcss.com), which receive your IP address and browser details as a normal part of serving those files. Substack sets its own cookies on the pages it hosts, governed by its own privacy policy. If we add privacy-focused analytics later, we will update this section and revise the date above. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service (email platform, payment processor, web host), and where required by law.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, and use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to opt out of certain processing. To exercise them, contact hello@secondpoint.co.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
